Libbies room
Another setting we will need will be the train station that we film two of the characters on. Within this scene we need to film two peoples feet walking along. The lighting will need to be quite bright in this station and we want the floor and walls in the background etc to be fairly presentable. By using a nice train station in london for example, not only can we achieve our shot where the two characters have to go into a large crowd but we can also film a long shot of them walking past one another. If we was to use a station such as brentwood station, we wouldn't be able to achieve the emotion and mood that we need to when the two eope eventually walk past eachother and there is a lot of tension. Brentwood station is very small and hasn't got very big platforms to walk along so we wont be able to get the most effective shot from a high angle.
The house that we film the old home video's in also needs to be appropriate with the right props etc and places to place our props. We want to make it look like the two characters we are using are living in a house of their own so as the character advances around the house filming the other character, she has to be doing certain things such as when she is painting a picture and he films up behind her. The rooms need to be quite spacious so that the characters can be established easily and stand out. When we are filming the home video's we will be getting the boy character to hand held the camera so that it looks more realistic. As he walks around the house he needs a clear run so that he can walk at a good pace withought having to watch what is around him and this way, he can keep focused on the camera giving us the chance of getting the best shot possible. Items such as the flower pot in the picture below on the stairs will be a health hazard for when the boy character is walking down the stairs. If he is focusing on the camera and how it is moving down the stairs, he might not notice the stuff on the stairs and trip. Things like this need to be taken into account so a lot of clear space will be needed.
