Costume research- previous films

The notebook- The notebook is set in the past and we can tell this by the clothes worn. The clothes also show that the girl is very rich whereas the boy is not. That is a very key part of the movie as it shows how they are worlds apart.The clothing compliments her figure and also shows what type of character she is (bubbly & outgoing) We can use this as inspiration as we want to show what our characters are like through the way they dress.

Dear John- In Dear John the main girl is shown to be very natural and comfortable  Even when dressing up she wears very simple clothing. This shows that she doesn't have a lot of money and that she is a natural beauty, a reason why John happens to fall in love with her.

500 Days Of Summer- In 500 Days Of Summer the main character 'Summer' is very quirky  this is shown through all her clothing and her hairstyle. She wears vintage style clothing and has a very old fashioned haircut, this says a lot about her character and possible interests.
