Evidence of how planned opening fits with research into codes/conventions, genre, audience

Our opening fits right in with 'Dear John' and 'The Notebook' in that they all set a tone. At first the 'Dear John' opening isnt that clear on what genre it is but as it goes on you can tell its a romance because like ours it is clear about two people. Dear John also has a voice over, which like ours is speaking of memories. The notebook is a much calmer opening, it gives nothing away but the lighting and setting makes the genre clear. Evidence that ours fits the codes and conventions of a romance is that we used lighting and setting in our favour. The girls bedroom used shows pinks, love hearts, signs that say love- the station is rustic. The music also shows romance as it is very classic and sweet, the whole thing is heart warming.
