Media trip BFI

We went to the British Film Institute to find out about film openings do's and dont's, here's what I learnt.
Investigate
-what do film openings actually look like?
-what do you need to know about titles?
Key features
-Genre- how does the opening tell us this, establish the genre in the opening
-Narrative- don't try to tell to much, just set up what is yet to come
-Atmosphere- key, set it up
-Setting- where is it located, choose wisely

Research
-Start general, look at a range of genres
-Home in on more specific genres
-Make your research focused and relevant

Lots of small things add up to get you better marks
Build your skills, research, planning, evidence throughout, process, give yourself time.

Sound- 50% of a film and is a key factor
Foley sound
