Film clip openings

Film Openings
The film openings we watched are Se7en, Austin Powers and James Bond. Although each film is very different in genre the opening credits do have similarities. These similarities include the fact that main actors are shown first and on their own clip, this makes it clearer that the actor is a large scale actor and will be a large part of the film. None of the clips have much dialogue, some none atall. This is because the clip sets the scene and is preparing the viewer not telling the story, by having dialogue in the opening credits it could take away from showing who is in the film. Se7en is different to James Bond and Austin Powers in that it only had close up shots, of items such as blades, newspaper cuttings and letters. This set the mood for the film, showing it is going to be eary and creepy, the other two films show characters in their opening credits. However Austin Powers opening focus’ on mainly Austin whereas the James Bond clip shows snippets of the whole film. The music in the clips show the general mood of the film, such as se7en has creepy music and James Bond has a sexy song which was made for the film, describing the main character James Bond. Austin powers music, editing and font is all 70’s themed showing us that the film will revolve around that era.
